Zcash
Zcash launched in 2016 with transparent and shielded transactions. Shielded transactions use zero-knowledge proofs to protect transaction details while letting users choose what to disclose.
ZEC price and wrapped ZEC
The live ZEC/USD reference comes from CoinGecko and refreshes periodically. It reflects native ZEC spot pricing, not the price of a specific Solana-wrapped token.
The planned Solana quote is wrapped ZEC. Bridge, mint address, custody, and redemption depend on the wrapped asset selected before any real pool is enabled.
A launch
1,000,000,000 tokens. Mint and freeze authority revoked. The planned pool pairs supply against wrapped ZEC. You keep no bag. Opening is either instant or a 10 minute batch at one price. Fee is 1–4%, set once.
Default 2% split: 40% holders, 20% you, 20% $ZecPrivacy burn, 20% node pool. 0.002 ZEC of the open is planned for the node pool.
Running a Zcash node
Zebra is the supported Zcash full-node implementation. Node registration and reward tracking are planned for a later relay release. When enabled, operators will register with a Solana wallet and rewards are planned in wrapped ZEC.
Running a reachable node is required for future node rewards; signing up without a node will not earn rewards.
Risks
- If nobody trades, holders get nothing and nodes get nothing.
- A wrapped ZEC bridge can pause, and its issuer may be able to mint additional tokens.
- Launches and fees are recorded on this desk. The on-chain pool and ZecPrivacy relay are not enabled yet.
